Welcome Back NetHealth Project Participants

We have great news!  The NetHealth Project, a longitudinal study funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will continue for another year.  The study began in 2015 with a cohort of first-year Notre Dame students.  The study is designed to measure overtime changes in student’s social networks and two important health-related behaviors, levels of physical activity and sleep habits.  Students received Fitbit Charge HRs allowing us to measure physical activity and sleep, and installed apps on their smartphones allowing us to measure social networks through communication (e.g., texts) between participants.

If you are currently in the NetHealth study you are eligible to enroll for another year.  We will be providing new Fitbit Charge 2s.  Students who wish to continue in the study must attend one of the following sessions to receive their new Fitbit and have a “check-up” to see that all apps are installed and working correctly. All sessions are held in the iCeNSA conference room, 384E Nieuwland Science Hall.
